Taught everything I needed to know to pass the test. The author did an excellent job on the organization and presentation, and even explained a few things that I couldn't quite get a handle on from other material I've studied.
Of all the books for the Network+ exam this one follows most closely to the exam objectives that CompTIA puts out for the exam. It is detailed and straightforward and also has a tons of resources that you can use online to help pass the test. Would definitely recommend this book.
Purchased the Kindle version of this book and while I found the information in the book to be relevant to the exam I was disappointed to find the practice exams that are touted on the description of the book as being included with the Kindle version are not included.
I bought this product for use in reviewing, and for the online practice test. Unfortunately, the pearson website refused to acknowledge the codes sent with the book for the practice test. Amazon was very helpful in trying to resolve this issue, Pearson however was worthless. To add insult to injury, only some of their "online features" actually worked and the text book was by turns entirely too vague or too specific. I returned it. Not worth the money. It gets two stars because the book actually covers the exam objectives even if I don't care for the way it does it.
This book was a serious God send. Its immensely thorough with the information and it goes over everything in a detailed fashion but a common speak manner. I'm getting ready to take my exam soon and I'm nervous but with this this book I feel good.
Excellent examples, easy to read, good end-of-chapter quizzes and great real-world use case stories featured at the end of every chapter to bring into context some of the materials covered. All certification books should follow this template.
Has almost every Exam Objective covered. Is east to read with a lot of images, tables and charts to help understand topics. If you have zero knowledge of networks, some of the words and definitions maybe not be simplified enough.
I have a decent bit of networking experience, which is lucky for me because otherwise I'd be struggling to get through this book. I don't think the definitions are clear enough for a beginner trying to learn the Net+ material. For example, the author defines a static route as "Routes that can be statically configured." That's not useful or clear: what does statically configured mean? What's the point of reading the book if the reader ends up having to Google the terms anyway?This is pretty common throughout the book. I'd pick a different book if you're new to networking.
