Good Luther resource.

A very excellent resource and should be on the shelf of every serious student and scholar.

This is a very up-to-date, encyclopedic work. In the future, if there is a second edition, make it 2 or 3 volumes and add some illustrations.

Sat down and read it in one sitting!! No seriously seems like a very nice reference item.

Question: How can a book that purports to be a dictionary of Luther and the Lutheran tradition fail to list the Bekenntnis Schriften der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche (BSLK) as its primary go-to source for the Lutheran Confessions, substituting for it the editor's own Kolb/Wengert "Book of Concord 2000" which contains some major textual and footnoting errors (as noted, for instance, in "Martin Luther's Priesthood of All Believers— In an Age of Modern Myth" (by K. Baudler)?"Ad fontes!" (to the sources!)

A good resource, but there is no entry in this book for “faith.” Seriously! How is it possible that a book that calls itself a “Dictionary of Luther and the Lutheran Traditions” fails to include an entry on “faith”?! Yes, there is an entry on “justification,” but that is not sufficient. Thus, only 3 stars for leaving out “faith.”
