I've been tutoring this test for eleven years, and an issue I always run into is a lack of good, level-appropriate practice material for the specific math question types on the ISEE. This book breaks down both the strategies and the problem types clearly, and provides a ton of practice material for tackling all of the math subject matter. The practice sections in the back of the book are a great tool for applying the knowledge under timed conditions. I hope Manhattan Tutors comes out with guides for other levels of the ISEE soon!
Very helpful book. As a tutor, I've found that other prep books don't address the specific math question types found on the ISEE. This book, however, contains an entire chapter on those questions, and helps students apply their math fundamentals to the trickier questions found on the test. There is also a section that has students identify question types.
This book is good! I do wish there was a reading and verbal section though (hence the 4 starts), but the math material is useful. It does a better job than other books of teaching kids how to identify specific question types. I also would've given 5 stars if there were even more practice questions, but the practice tests at the end were so helpful!
